Hi Mike,
Is the hem around the neckline and the front openings done the same as the bottom and sleeve hems?
Gorgeous pattern!
Susan
Yes, the hem around the front opening, neckline, sleeves, and bottom are all done the same way in step 6.
The line drawing looks like a nice set in sleeve but the model looks like it’s a drop shoulder. Can anyone confirm either way on this pattern?
Hello, this pattern has more of a drop shoulder, but you can trim some of the fabric at the shoulders if you prefer.
This was exactly what I was looking for. It’s a perfect light-weight cardigan that I can wear to the office. I made it in a light knit in gray and plan to make it in other colors. Thank you!
One of the easiest patterns I’ve come across that still looks good. I had exactly 2 yards and it wasn’t quite enough to make it the full length (size L) so I had to shorten it a touch. Started and finished in a few hours.
My fabric has a nap to it and I had to cut the fabric and flip it for the front piece then sew a seam in the neck.
That way both sides of the front looked and felt the same.
Good Morning! My brain is doing a flip with the shawl collar – how do I get the top of the neck on the fold?
Instead of placing the long side of the pattern on fold (as instructed with the back piece), place the shoulder seam on fold. If you take a close look at the pattern, there is an arrow showing you which part of the front piece is supposed to be placed on fold. Since the front hangs open, you don’t need to have it be one sold piece in the front, only on the back of the collar.
Hello from Australia, I’m so delighted with this pattern but also confused. There seems to be no opening in the front as the pattern instructions says both front and back to be cut on the fold. Can you help me please.
Hi Marion
Yes, thats right, both pieces are cut on the fold, but, for the front piece the fold is at the collar, at the top of the pattern. This way, the opening is at the front. Please check pages D3 and D4 of the pattern, you’ll find the fold symbol there for the front piece.
Is 2 yards of fabric enough for the largest sizes? Or if doing sizes 3XL-5XL would more fabric be required?
Hey Chantal! The “Shop The Look” widget on the page indicates that 3 yards are required for size XL and up.
