Transitional sewing patterns are the secret to effortless style during the in-between seasons. When summer slowly fades and autumn begins to settle in, the transition calls for a wardrobe that is as adaptable as the weather itself. These pieces work beautifully layered, can be dressed up or down, and shine in fabrics that balance breathability with warmth. Think boiled wool coats, silk charmeuse skirts, ponte knit dresses, stretch jerseys, suiting, and luxe satins—each fabric bringing its own seasonal advantage.
What makes these patterns perfect for fall is their versatility in fabric choice. A boiled wool coat can just as easily be sewn in tweed, corduroy, or cashmere blends for a timeless finish. A silk charmeuse skirt flows effortlessly but can also be reimagined in viscose georgette or linen-rayon blends for more texture. This flexibility ensures that your handmade wardrobe isn’t just stylish, but practical and lasting well beyond a single season.

Appreciate you stopping by, Victor—glad you’re checking out the Mood Sewciety patterns!
I love the patterns but the models are all too skinny. A more diverse set of body types would gain more traction.
Thanks for sharing this, Marie. We really value hearing feedback like yours, and it’s something we’re keeping in mind as we plan ahead.
Hi, thank you so much for these patterns. I have downloaded a lot of them and I just love them to bits. I also do a lot of sewing for weddings and matric dances and most of the matric farewell dresses these days have the rouching or pleats on 1 side of the waist. always struggling with that. Maybe 1 or 2 dresses with this specific rouching would be awesome. Also larger sizes like 30 to 40 and up so how about a plus size collection. just for those who struggle a lot?
Thank you so much for your kind words—we’re thrilled to hear how much you’ve been enjoying the patterns and really appreciate your thoughtful feedback. Suggestions like yours help us keep improving and creating content that supports all members of our Sewciety.

Can you pdf these patterns to put through a ditto sewing pattern projector?
I’m 5’11” tall and must alter patterns to fit my lanky frame.
Hi Carla, our free Mood Sewing Patterns are currently available as printable PDFs (tiled and copy shop). While we don’t offer projector-ready files at this time, many in our community use the PDFs with their projectors. Our model is 5’10”, so most likely you won’t need to make major length adjustments to our latest patterns.
Thank you.
