Create your own short and sweet statement with the Juno Crop Blouse free sewing pattern—a romantic off-the-shoulder design that brings playful charm and soft elegance to your handmade wardrobe. But this one’s extra special to me—because it marks my first time sewing in years! I took a handful of sewing classes and made about eight me-made projects back in 2014 when I was 11… and then I just stopped. Now, I’m back on a journey to relearn the craft and finally make the clothes I’ve always dreamed of wearing. This Juno Crop Blouse is where it all begins.
The Juno is perfect for sewists—new or returning—who love fashion with a little flair. The flared bell sleeves sway with every step, the off-the-shoulder neckline adds a flirty touch, and the cropped hemline is just right for pairing with high-waisted jeans or a breezy summer skirt. I made my version using a romantic Imported Floral Lace (NY Exclusive) and trimmed it with Closeout Pleated Satin Lace Trim (NY Exclusive) to give it that dreamy, soft movement.
From vintage-looking eyelets to bold sheer prints, this design really lets standout fabrics shine. And because the lace is sheer, it layers beautifully over bralettes, tanks, or dresses for a look that’s totally your own. Whether you’re styling it up with statement heels or keeping it casual with slides and sun-kissed skin, the Juno Crop Blouse turns everyday dressing into something worth celebrating.
I even documented my full sewing process with a tutorial—check it out here on my Instagram! Whether you’re learning alongside me or just looking for your next dreamy make, I hope this inspires you to stitch something beautiful. Find Your Perfect Fit
The size guide below is based on the suggested design & wearing ease for this style. You can choose the size according to your desired finished garment measurements, blending between sizes as needed. Measure the printed patterns to make sure the dimensions are according to the desired fitting and adjust—if needed—before cutting the fabric. For best results, sew a test garment in a similar fabric to adjust your pattern.
Note: Measurements may vary after adjustments. If using non-stretch fabrics, reference the approximate finished garment measurements chart to choose your size.
How To Sew the Juno Crop Blouse
The instructions provided are designed to guide you through sewing the Juno crop blouse from start-to-finish, no matter if you are a beginner sewer—like me!—or a seasoned professional.
Sew with a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
Step 1
Sew the side seams of the bodice together.
Lay your front and back bodice pieces right sides together. Align the side seams and clip them in place using sewing clips (ideal for delicate fabrics like embroidered mesh). Carefully sew along both side seams with a narrow zigzag or stretch stitch to maintain flexibility.
♥ Tip: Use a 70/10 Microtex Sharp Machine Needle when sewing mesh or lace fabrics to prevent snags.
Step 2
SLEEVE INSEAM
Sew the sleeve together at the inseam.
Place each sleeve piece right sides together and sew along the side seam from underarm to hem. This will shape the sleeve into a tube.
♥ Tip: If using sheer mesh, handle gently and avoid stretching as you sew to prevent distortion.
Step 3
ATTACH SLEEVES
Attach the sleeves to the bodice at the armholes.
With the bodice still inside out, turn the sleeves right side out. Insert each sleeve into the corresponding armhole, matching the underarm seams. Align and clip around the armhole, right sides together. Sew in place.
♥ Tip: Work slowly around curves and ease in any extra fullness evenly.
Step 4
ELASTIC NECKLINE
Pin the elastic to the neckline for an off-the-shoulder fit.
With your top turned inside out, wrap a piece of elastic around your shoulders where you want the off-the-shoulder neckline to sit. Make sure it feels snug enough to stay in place but still comfortable for movement. Once it feels right, cut the elastic to your measurement.
Pin the elastic to the inside edge of the neckline, aligning it evenly along the top edge of the fabric. As you pin, gently stretch the elastic so it gathers the mesh slightly, which will help the neckline hug your shoulders.
♥ Tip: The key to a great off-the-shoulder fit is light tension—just enough to hold the top in place without digging in.
♥ Start by pinning the center front, center back, and sides first, then fill in the gaps to keep things balanced.
Step 5
ELASTIC CASING
Fold over the elastic and stitch to encase it.
Fold the top edge of the fabric over the elastic, enclosing it, and pin in place. Sew close to the raw edge to create a clean elastic casing.
♥ Tip: Use a zigzag or stretch stitch here to allow the neckline to move with the body.
Step 6
ELASTIC HEM
Repeat the same steps for the hem of the bodice.
Take another piece of elastic (measured to your waist with a light stretch) and repeat Steps 4 and 5 on the bottom edge of the top. This will create the signature scrunched effect at the waistline.
♥ Tip: Try the top on before sewing the bottom casing closed to adjust fit if needed.
Step 7
SLEEVE HEM
Pin and sew decorative trim to sleeve hems.
For a polished and whimsical finish, add a pleated or ruffled ribbon trim to the bottom edge of each sleeve. Pin the trim right sides together with the sleeve hem and sew in place.
♥ Tip: Match thread color to the trim for a seamless look.

I hope you won’t mind a comment that is not intended as insulting to your current model, but I’d love to see your clothes modelled by a range of individuals. Many of us are….ummm….middle-aged and not as thin or glamorous as your model! It would make the designs feel more accessible if there was a little more variation.
Thank you so much for the feedback Paloma. Comments like this help us direct our priorities for new patterns towards content that our customers truly want to see.
Hi. I’m trying to find the fabric requirements for the other sizes because I really want to make this top. I tried toggling the Shop This Look and got everything but the fabric. Help!
Oh I see the problem. Good catch Megan! For each size up from a size small, I recommend using 0.5 additional yards. For example, a size small required 1.5 yards, so a medium would require 2 yards, a large would require 2.5, etc.
do you have a recommendation for how to make it not off the shoulder?
When cutting out your paper pattern, leave some extra paper on the top. Extend the lines for the arm hole, neckline, and sleeve hole so that everything has a higher fit than the original pattern. This will give you a boat neck top without it being off the shoulder.
