Find Your Perfect Fit
The Chamonix Color Block Sweatsuit Sizing Guide is based on the suggested design & wearing ease for this style. You can also choose the size according to your desired finished garment measurements, blending between sizes as needed. Measure the printed patterns to make sure the dimensions are according to the desired fitting and adjust if needed before cutting the fabric. For best results, sew a test garment in a similar fabric to adjust your pattern.
Measurements may vary after adjustments. If using non-stretch fabrics, reference the approximate finished garment measurements chart to choose your size.
Note: Always read all the instructions before cutting the fabric!
How to Sew The Chamonix Color Block Sweatsuit
The instructions provided below are designed to guide you through sewing the Chamonix Color Block Sweatsuit from start to finish.
3 Tips for Sewing with French Terry
⇒ Use a stretch stitch, lightning stitch, or very short straight stitch (about 1.5 millimeters) when sewing all the pattern pieces together to allow the fabric to stretch after its sewn.
⇒ Use a ballpoint or stretch needle when sewing with French Terry to avoid pulls and skipped stitches.
⇒ Make sure when cutting out your pattern pieces that the stretch direction of the fabric is oriented the same way on all the pattern pieces. You want the sweatsuit to stretch horizontally more than vertically.

- Hand sew the eyes of the hook and eye loops to the inside hem of the neckline.
- Hook the hooks into the eyes.

This is absolutely gorgeous. At some point going to try to make. Not sure when thought. but I will attempt it.
Hi! I would love to make this and I was wondering if it would work if I used some thrifted quilts instead of the French Terry? The quilts don’t really have any stretch so if you have any recommendations that would be great! Thanks
Hey Eva! You can make this set with woven/non-stretch fabric, but just make sure when you’re choosing what size to cut out, you go based on the finished garment measurements, not the body measurements. This will ensure that it fits you without having to stretch.
Hello, this set is very beautiful. I would like to know if it can be done without the strip that holds the right sleeve or is there a risk that the sleeve will fall too far and be uncomfortable? If you do it without this strip, should you adjust the size of the collar so that it is more supported or is there nothing to do? Thanks in advance for your answer.
Hey Elena! You can just make it without the strap and it should still hold itself up on your body pretty well. If anything, you might just want to make the neckline a little smaller so it’s not falling off your shoulder so much.
Ok!!! Thanks!!
Can’t wait to make this!
Can I sew this project without the strap? Or It could be a problem for the right sleeve subjection? If is possible how can I do? Thanks in advance!
Hey ELena, you could absolutely omit the strap if you just want an off-the-shoulder look. It’ll still work!
I wish you would include the yardage requirements for each piece. I want to make the pants, but not the top.
Hey Gina, you will need at least 2.5 yards of fabric in total for the pants, unless you’re making a bigger size in which case I would recommend 3 or 3.5 yards.
Beautiful
Thank you
Love the top
I love this pattern so much!!! It’s the second item on my tape then sew list. Would have been first but the Raven shirt dress has less pages and seems to be a quick sew.
Thank you this looks so stylish
You’re wonderful
Hello, I just printed the pattern and can’t wait to make it. Can I use regular Stretch French Terry or does it need to be Bamboo Stretch French Terry? I am not sure what the difference is.
HI Sabine
Yes, you can use regular French terry. The main difference is that regular French terry has slightly more structure, while bamboo French terry is softer and has more drape. Because of the nature of this design, the set can be made with either one without any issues 🙂
I have LOVED making this!
It really interests me, what height your standard size is?
Hi Em
Our model is 5’10” 🙂
Could you use stretch jersey or ITY jersey for this set?
You could! But it might be a bit thin.
