All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.

Here’s how to sew:
Step 1
First, pin your center front pieces to your side front pieces. Clip into the the seam allowance and press the seams.
Step 2
Next, pin the side fronts to your back pattern pieces and sew. Make sure to leave open the side seam on the wearer’s left side. This is where you will insert your zipper. Complete this steps for the self facing pattern pieces as well.
Step 3
Fold over each strap in half and press. Stitch along the sides then turn with a loop turner. Press each strap.
Step 4
Insert your straps in between your facing and pin them to the top of your bodice on the front and back. Straps should be sandwiched in between the facing and outer front bodice.
Step 5
Set the top aside for now and work on the pant portion.
Step 6
Sew in the darts on the front and back pieces of your pant. Using a French seam, sew together the front and back rise, and along the side seams.
Step 7
The bottom cuff is made up of two pieces; one for the front and one for the back. Sew together your cuffs and attach to the bottom of your pant. For fun, try cutting your cuffs on the bias for a contrast in pattern.
Step 8
Remember to leave open the top of the pant on the wearer’s left side for the zipper.
Step 9
Sew together your belt and use the loop turner to turn it right side out. You can self draft belt loops or make simple belt loops by using your thread to make a chain stitch loops.
Step 10
nsert your invisible zipper and that’s it! You’re done!

OMG yes! This is exactly what I’ve been looking for! In my country we are entering summer, so I plan to make a short version of this in light denim. Thank you so much for the pattern!
Oh man have I got a plan for this! Orange cotton for the trousers and an orange floral poplin for the top part. I reckon I will do the cuffs in the floral and the straps in the plain cotton.
Hi! I’ve just finished a romper version of this! Thank you so much for the pattern it was very easy to sew, and straightforward to modify to my different top and bottom sizes, oh and to add pockets 🙂
Thanks again!
I’m going to upcycle some large mens work pants into these with a few pattern adjustments. Cause I’m not quite feeling the tie or high back and I’m short so I probably won’t need that pant cuff either. I’ll let you know how it goes.
How’d it go?
Is the seam allowance already added to the pattern ?
Yes, a 1/2″ seam allowance is already included! 🙂
what size zipper is required?
Hi Marjie! You’ll need an invisible zipper at least 16″ long. 🙂
Just letting you know Courtney that the zipper isnt in the needed items list at the top. Cant wait for this one, im using an orange corduroy thats absolutely perfect for fall! I may give it long sleeves so i can wear it into the winter aswell 🙂
Thank you, Reyanna – added. Can’t wait to hear how your corduroy version turns out! 🙂
Is 4 yards for up to the largest size?
Yes, 4 yards will be enough up to the largest size.
the sizes are incredibly big! Size down!
Such a cute pattern! Instructions are a bit vague – are the French seams on the inseam and the side seams? Has anyone tried this – any advice?
Hello, you can finish all seams with a French seam.
Oh it just gives me a hoodie pattern not the jumpsuit
Hi, Kayleigh! Sorry about that – we’re actually in the process of switching over our download system to avoid those weird glitches. Would you mind re-entering your info into the new form and trying again?
Hi! Is the cuff folded over and attached or do you hem the bottom? Thanks!
The bottom is hemmed with a 1/4″ double rolled hem. 🙂
Made this for my 12 year old for her gymnastics’s banquet. ❤️❤️❤️ Turned out so good!! I had made the XS then had her put it on and pinned it to take out the chest and hips (that she doesn’t have ). Ended up looking tailored made to her and we got so many compliments!! Thank you so much for this pattern! I wish I could attach a photo because your pattern is awesome!
Hi, I love this pattern! I will say however the directions are pretty incomplete, it doesn’t mention attaching the bodice to the pants nor how the cuffs are attached to the bottom of the pant legs (if they are folded in half or hemmed at the bottom) so I would not recommend this pattern for a beginner
I found this pattern very confusing. It doesn’t give many instructions for the bodice and the pictures make it look like there is only 1 front centre piece however the pattern says to cut two. it also gives no instructions for the back pieces. If anyone has any advice i would appreciate it because i dont want to waste this fabric.
I see now that one set of the pieces are for the lining. this would have been a really helpful note for the pattern. it really is a beautiful piece though!
I agree it is very confusing to follow along and I didn’t understand if there were supposed to be 4 pieces or 2 for fabric and 2 for lining. Wish me luck!
I appreciate that this is a free pattern but it is sooooo big. I started with my normal size and had to take every seem in an inch! And with cuffs it’s touching the floor. It came out great after adjusting but I definitely recommend sizing down.
Sorry *without* the cuffs
Hello! I think about making this with poplin (cotton) fabric to wear alone. You recommmended thicker fabrıcs. Would it work?
Hi Cagil! I think you could use poplin for this, as long as it isn’t transparent!
Does this need the zipper to be able to get it up over the hips, could it work without one?
Hi Aimee, yes the zipper needs to be able to open enough to accommodate the largest circumference (typically the hips).
Hi! I just don’t understand the shoulder measurements? Isn’t from one shoulder to the other? And what is the breast spread exactly? I found many answer but still not sure… Thanks a lot
Hi Vanessa! Typically the shoulder measurement is from one shoulder to the other, across the back. Breast spread is also known as “apex to apex”, which is the measurement between the fullest points on the breasts (usually the nipples).
Hi, I am 5 feet and I was wondering around how much of the fabric would I need to cut off?
Hey there! As a general piece of advice, I would always cut the pattern out the way it was made and then once you’re done constructing the garment, try it on and see how much you need to take off the bottom hem. This will ensure that you don’t accidentally cut too much off and your garments will always fit your specific inseam.
Hi, I’m a little confused about the patterns and the explanations doesn’t clear for me, someone can help me please it’s my first project .
Thank you
I’m very new to sewing. What is the difficulty level for this pattern?
Hello, this free sewing pattern is beginner friendly!
Heads up – there’s a typo on the back cuff pattern piece – both cuffs say “front”, the longer cuff is the back piece.
Thank you very much for this note, we will make sure to keep an eye for future patterns.
I feel like this pattern is missing a side back piece. There is only a centre back piece and it’s very small for the sizing plus it doesn’t match with the front side pieces that we’re supposed to sew together.
Hello, this pattern includes a front bodice, a center back, and back side patterns.
me encantan su

Since I am using stretchable material, can’t I just do away with the zipper and darts? Also use buttons for the straps? I am going to add a front pouch pocket and pockets in the pants.
