Some of my favorite memories from my childhood are special occasions. Any excuse to get all dolled up and put on a fancy dress was my main goal! Mood’s Cypress Dress free sewing pattern has already become a favorite for my daughter; she was so excited when we both wore our dresses for our mommy and me picnic! Our Redux version of the Cypress was re-imagined in a chic satin and adorned with rhinestone buttons, perfect for the milestone events that we hold dear to our hearts. So whether your little one is a flower girl, or celebrating her first communion, she’ll feel like the prettiest girl in the room. Try using taffeta or Duchesse satin as another great option!

Fabric selection and details such as trim play a huge part in chaning the look of a garment. For this version of the Cypress dress, I chose Italian rhinestone buttons to compliment Mood Fabrics beautiful crisp satin.

Another quick adjustment is as simple as tying the bow in the back. It gives the dress a less casual feel and it’s an easy way to add a back detail.

Do you have a special little girl that needs a special dress? Well I hope you give the Cypress dress a try! I’m sure she’ll love it just as much as my little princess!

Dear Shavonne, I am just sewing this cute dress for me and my daughter.
In this Corona-time it’ s a bit tricky to get some fabric so I took a ‘long-time-laying-in-the-box’ fabric.
This is my first pattern in english (I am from Germany) and it took some time to translate your ‘how to sew’. But it works all fine and tonight I will sew the last buttons on it.
I am pretty happy, the pattern comes in so many sizes, because I have a 22-24 and most of my patterns are smaller so I often have to grade it up. The Mood patterns are very nice and I am pretty sure I will sew another one.
I thank you so much for sharing this absolut amazing dress for mummy and daughter!
I hope, my english was good-enough for understand me^_^
Greetings from Germany,
Sandra
